Creation Falls in Red River Gorge, Kentucky, is one of my favorite hiking trails, and it offers a picturesque waterfall, perfect for elopement portraits surrounded by nature. Lakota and Trevor knew they wanted an intimate elopement, and it was a no-brainer as to how they would exchange their vows; through a cozy and simple cabin ceremony with loved ones followed by an adventurous hike to its breathtaking waterfalls for memorable photos.
Elopement Cabin Ceremony With Family And Friends
The day was seamless and beautiful. Lakota and Trevor got ready in their cabins. After getting ready, we had first look portraits with Lakota and Trevor and then with the bride’s father. The couple invited only their immediate family, best friends, and dogs. Everyone supported the couple and their decision to elope. Their woods ceremony by the cabin was everything that Lakota and Trevor had envisioned.
Elopement Timeline
Since this is a popular trail, it can get quite crowded. However, Lakota and Trevor made the smart decision to elope on Thursday. I also recommended creating a timeline the day of, which was very handy. We had the whole place to ourselves, making it perfect for intimate bride and groom portraits. Check out my elopement timeline guide if you are looking at how to map your elopement day.
Moreover, during our hike to the falls, where the couple wanted portraits, a lovely pair of hikers congratulated the couple for their nuptials. The day was full of love and support, making it a wonderful experience for my couple.
Elopement Portraits At Creation Falls
Creation Falls at the Red River Gorge offers a romantic and scenic waterfall backdrop making it the ultimate destination for eloping couples. This is one of my favorite places to hold an adventure elopement; so much that I created an elopement guide for this location.
Lakota and Trevor wore the perfect attire; Trevor wore a casual polo with khakis, and Lakota wore a comfy white summery boho dress. They were such a playful couple, and it was a fun shoot. We took beautiful shots everywhere – from the hiking trails to a river bank and then to the stunning falls for portraits in the water. It was an incredible way to end the day!
Kind Words From The Couple
“We loved hiring Mary as our photographer! Her photos are AMAZING! She is so fun and easygoing. Her pictures really captured everything we dreamed on our big day, we never felt like we wasn’t “posing” right or anything like the usual photographers. It was very go with the flow just how we like it. We love Mary and 1000% recommend.”
